Seeking the opinion of others can be a daunting task. There are many benefits to doing it, however, it can still be very dangerous; where solely relying on the opinions of others can lock your own opinion in a box you’ve unintentionally (and sometimes intentionally) created. Having multiple voices flowing around in your head at any given moment can be confusing, chaotic, and frustrating. However, seeking the opinions of others is also a necessary part of growing or evolving in life.
I started the O4T Sweepstakes this year, yes with the goal of gaining the opinions of those around me, but also with the goal of expanding and re-introducing my brand. Over the years, I’ve learned that the thoughts and opinions of a given community can often shape the paths and perspectives of society as a whole, and yet, it is the thoughts and opinion of one that can often mute or magnify those very perspectives; whether expressed intentionally or by accident.
For Example...
A community could introduce speed bumps with the general opinion that it would slow down traffic in residential areas. The success of this change could then be viewed by other communities and eventually practiced, leading to a mass roll-out into society.
However, the initial thought of speed bumps, despite being one that is most likely shared amongst multiple community members, is often led/guided by one primary member. And consequently, once rolled out and placed on a larger scale, the parameters of the initial thought’s success becomes more and more reliant on the value placed by the leading community member(s). Becoming a blueprint or guideline for future thoughts and perspectives surrounding speed bumps within a community.
So continuing on my mission of re-introduction, I can’t help but be mindful of the thoughts expressed to, and by, me. How have I been influenced? How have I influence others? Which thoughts, born of another, have I allowed to become a blueprint, or even the blueprint, for my life; positively impacting and negatively? We may not be able to answer these questions today, and we may not ever be able to answer them with full clarity or foresight, but I dont think that’s the point; no matter the origin of thought, its evolution is inevitable. So instead of focusing on absorbing the influx of thoughts and opinions flying throughout society, we should look towards how we can use our individual contributions as filters to evolution.

Least Intriguing/Least Interesting...
Interestingly enough, despite tying for 2nd in being the most intriguing/interesting, The Love Monster ended up topping the charts as the ‘not-so-fave’.
